FAQs
Common Questions
What if I don't see my size on the website?
We carry over 60 standard sizes, but if yours isn't listed we can almost always source it. Email us your exact dimensions (length x width x depth) and we'll confirm availability within one business day.
Why should I change my air filter so often?
A clogged filter forces your HVAC to work harder, raising energy bills and shortening system life. It also stops trapping particles effectively — meaning more dust, allergens, and contaminants circulating through your home. Most filters should be replaced every 60–90 days, sooner with pets or allergies.
How do I install my filter properly?
Slide your old filter out and check the airflow arrow printed on its frame. Your new filter's arrow should point the same direction — toward the furnace or air handler. If your filter sits in a return vent, the arrow points away from the room and toward the ductwork.
What size filter do I need?
Look at the side of your existing filter — the size is printed on the frame (e.g., 16x25x1). If you can't read it, measure the length, width, and depth of the slot. Common residential sizes are 1-inch deep; some systems use 4-inch or 5-inch filters.
What is MERV rating?
MERV (Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value) measures how effectively a filter captures particles. MERV 10 is excellent for everyday dust, pollen, and pet dander. MERV 13 captures smaller particles including some viruses and smoke — recommended for allergy sufferers and homes near wildfire zones.
How often should I change my filter?
We recommend every 90 days for most homes. If you have pets, allergies, or run your system heavily, every 60 days is better. Set yourself a phone reminder, or grab an extra filter or two when you order so you always have one ready when it's time to swap.
